Submitting Artwork

You can submit artwork a few different ways, depending which is the most convenient to you. One way is to email a digital file of the image to info@fat-rabbit.com. If you would prefer, or if you do not have a digital file, come into the shop at 1145 River Road, Suite #5 Charlottesville, VA 22901. [map]

Due to the differences when providing artwork, various situations can arise which cause delays in the production of the project. Following a few basic rules will help prevent some of these hazards, allowing us to provide you with high quality marketing materials in a timely fashion.

Digital Files
We can support the most common file types for print or reproduction. Two basic file types to familiarize yourself with are Raster and Vector.

Raster Images: These images are usually a photograph or scanned art that can only be reproduced for print at a high resolution, 300dpi. Depending on the size of the image and the resolution, the file size can be very large. [extention examples: photoshop.eps & photoshop.tif]

Vector Images: These files are made of outlines and are similiar to digital technical drawings. Vector art is the most preferred for logos, text and taglines. They will always print clean and crisp at any size. The files size is very small compared to raster images. When using this file format, convert all text to outlines before uploading your files. [extenstion examples: illustrator.ai, illustrator.eps, & freehand.eps]

Resolution
Photoshop.eps or Photoshop.tif are raster images and must be 300dpi [dots per inch] at full and final size. Be aware that Web configured graphics are usually 72 dpi.

Camera Ready Art
Camera ready art is a very high quality print of a logo, text, or a tagline that can be scanned and turned into a digital file. It is necessary to have this art scanned and saved as one of the supported digital formats before submitting your artwork.

Note: Faxes, photocopies, hand drawn art, business cards, letterhead and most digital photos are NOT considered camera ready art.
